How Misinformation Affect Young Adults Online?

Misinformation appear way more than we realize, especially to young adults. Most of them get information straight from TikTok, Instagram or Youtube, it's really easy get false information or over reacting posts to shape their opinions before they see the truth. This can make them become more confusing and unnecessary stress. The recent Tai Po fire in Hong Kong is a good example of how fast things can spread online. As soon as the new broke, people on social media started posting unconfirmed claims saying multiple people had already died. Seeing those post definitely make me heartbroken and upset, because it's my home and I care about what happens there. The real situation was already stressful, but the misinformation made it even worse. It shows how fast rumours spread and let people feel fear, anxiety, or even confusion before any official updates come out.
